About us

Motion Control Products Ltd is a technology company specialising in smart, high-performance universal servo and stepper motors, drives, IoT motion systems, and automation solutions. We support our customers’ success through engineering expertise, decades of experience, and access to a comprehensive portfolio of motion and automation technologies.

For over 30 years, Motion Control Products has partnered with some of the most respected names in the industry. In doing so, we have built an enviable reputation as a provider of motion control solutions for applications demanding high power density, high precision, compact size, and reliable performance in extreme environments — including robotics, UAVs, ROVs, AGVs, medical devices, surveillance systems, and defence. We are equally adept at supplying general-purpose and industrial automation systems, including CNC production machines, food and beverage lines, packaging, converting, and bespoke machinery.

Motion Control Products works with cutting-edge technologies to serve high-performance applications while also offering best-in-class solutions for cost-sensitive projects. We provide electric motors of all types, including high-efficiency BLDC, stepper, and servo motors, along with drives, gearboxes, linear actuators, slip rings, and harmonic gear motors — supported by versatile communication protocols.

Our core product portfolio includes:

- Stepper motors and servo motors
- Stepper drives and servo drives
- Brushless and stepper motors with integrated electronics
- Voice coils and frameless motors
- Linear motors and direct drive torque motors
- Electric actuators with IP ratings up to IP69K
- Planetary and strain-waved gearboxes
- Harmonic actuators
- Capacitive encoders
- Slip rings
- Motion controllers
- HMI and PLC
- IoT enabled Motion control systems

We operate our own manufacturing facility for high-volume production and maintain a skilled integration team to assist customers in designing optimal solutions across electrical, mechanical, and control components.

In 2025/2026, we introduced a new line of products to meet evolving industry demands for efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. This includes high power density servo drives, harmonic actuators, high-force electric linear actuators, slip rings, and IoT-enabled motion control systems. We recently launched our innovative MMF4 linear motors, which use platens free of rare-earth magnets — offering a cost-effective solution for long-stroke applications and supporting the transition towards Net Zero.

Motion Control Products Ltd provides exceptional technical support from our UK head office, with a dedicated external sales team available to discuss your application requirements. With offices in the USA, Hong Kong, and mainland China, we are your trusted global partner for automation components and motion control systems.

Encoders and motion sensors

Motion Control Products are the official distributor for some world’s leading encoder manufacturers: Netzer, KappaSense, Bogen and US Digital. Among these four, our complete ranges cover the both rotary and linear encoder forms using the latest generation technologies. Electric Encoders™ from Netzer: Our newly launched Electric Encoders™ from Netzer are a range of absolute-position, rotary electric encoders, featuring with high accuracy, low profile, hollow shaft geometry, and remarkable low weight and inertia. The encoder ranges have OD size from 16mm to 130mm). With options including hollow-shaft and multi-axis designs, they meet NASA and ESA standards. Typical applications cover from harsh environment and defense, industrial automation, collaborative and medical robotics through unmanned vehicles and aerospace to special low orbit and deep space missions. BOGEN’s linear magnetic scales: Our Bogen magnetic encoders from Germany include magnetic sensing heads, rings, and tapes for linear and rotary use. These offer optical-level precision at lower cost, suitable for metrology, surgical robotics, and MICR applications. Compliant with international standards, our encoder portfolio delivers accuracy, resilience, and flexibility across industrial, medical, and space-grade systems. Capacitive linear encoders from KappaSense: Available in incremental and absolute types, the FLEXe™ series offers excellent vibration tolerance and broad operational range, while the FREEe™ series features passive, lightweight readheads for cable-free operation and scalability. Both are highly customisable and contamination-resistant.

Linear and Rotary Stages, Linear Motors

For multi-axis motion needs, Motion Control Products offer an extensive range of linear stages and miniature stages, in a various formats to suit our customer requirements. These can be supplied either as a full system, i.e.: complete with drives, controller, granite or steel baseplate with welded support frame or as a standalone unit to match customer's requirements. Typical applications range from laser cutting, electronic manufacturing, assembly to vision systems and industrial automation. Our new-launched MMF4 series magnet-free track linear motors represent an innovation in linear motion technology. Unlike conventional linear motors with magnets in the track, the MMF4 series relocates magnets and coils into the mover, eliminating rare-earth magnets from the platen. This patented magnetic field modulation technology offers exceptional force density, high speed, low cogging, and low EMI, while significantly reducing cost—particularly for long-stroke applications. With continuous forces up to 456N, peak forces of 1124N, MMF4 motors achieve over 90% efficiency. Enhanced safety, reduced electromagnetic interference, and increased durability make them ideal for demanding environments such as semiconductor, laser processing, medical, and robotics applications. Complementing the MMF4, MCP’s MMD linear motor modules offer compact, high-performance motion systems for long-travel, magnet-sensitive uses, with four frame sizes and high levels of integration. Together, MMF4 and MMD redefine efficient, safe, and sustainable linear motion solutions.
